It Might As Well Be Spring...

I’m as restless as a willow in a windstorm
I’m as jumpy as puppet on a string
I’d say that I had spring fever
But I know it isn’t spring
I am starry eyed and vaguely discontented
Like a nightingale without a song to sing
O why should I have spring fever
When it isn’t even spring
I keep wishing I were someone else
Walking down a strange new street
And hearing words that I’ve never head
From a girl I’ve yet to meet
I’m as busy as spider spinning daydreams
I’m as giggy as a baby on a swing
I haven’t seen a crocus or a rosebud
Or a robin on the wing
But I feel so gay in a melancholy way
That it might as well be spring
It might as
Well be
Spring

I remember watching State Fair with Grandma. One of her favorite parts was the singing of this song. I recalled the lyrics today and started to itch for the Spring.
I am craving the sunshine.
I long for walks with my little boy in the fresh air.
I want to purchase that pink beach cruiser I have always wanted and go biking in the park with Bobby.
I want to finally use the picnic basket we got for our wedding from my darling Mitchells.
I want to play in the sandbox we are planning to get for Murdock.(I found the perfect one at Sam's Club yesterday. It has a little picnic table and umbrella attached. It was love at first sight.)
I want to watch Mother Nature decorate the world with flowers.

Sigh...we are getting closer to it. I just feel it in my bones.

I hope it comes soon! This cold weather...is not fun. The other day, I could definitely feel the weather trying to be spring, I woke up & there was sunshine, and then when I got out of class...It was back to blizzard. But at least most of the ice is gone...It's time for spring. I want to go running! And I want to sit on the grass & read books...and bask in the warmth...ahhh....yeah. i definitely feel the need for spring too!

My girls and I watched State Fair just a week ago. So I can hear her singing too. Really, I expect spring any day here. My kids keep running out of the house without shoes, and I keep yelling for them to come back and put them on--"it isn't summer, ya know!". I caught Ethan without a shirt jumping on the trampoline at the neighbors this weekend.
